I am a fine artist and musician living and working in rural Northumberland. I am descended from border reivers so my roots are firmly established in the north of England. I studied art at Sunderland Polytechnic (now the university of Sunderland) and music at the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne. My music and art reflect my passion for this region. Colour and form are important in my work. Landscapes are simple and ask the observer to feel the land. Seascapes and harbours are busy, bursting with life and history. Many of the images I paint are directly related to my childhood memories of people and places and some are from memories in the making as I rediscover the region through raising my own children here. I hope you like my work and if you would like to leave a comment would be delighted to hear from you.
